Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation commissioner Somesh Kumar on
Saturday directed the zonal commissioner to remove illegal temporary
huts at Laxminagar crossroads near Pillar No 68 of the PVNR Expressway
as they were causing inconvenience to the people, leading to accidents
at the said location.
He instructed the officials to identify
places for rehabilitating the slum-dwellers and also put up proposals
for road-widening from Laxminagar to Gudimalkapur.
The
commissioner along BJP floor leader and area corporator Bangari Prakash
and senior officials of the Central Zone visited few areas of
Mehdipatnam division at the request of area corporator.
The
corporator informed the commissioner that several accidents were taking
place almost every day and requested the commissioner to take steps for
road widening at the earliest.
He also visited Bhojagutta area and
inspected the grave yard and directed the executive engineer and the
zonal commissioner to coordinate with the mandal revenue officer for
marking the boundaries and to take up the construction work of the
compound wall.
The corporator has also shown a government land for setting up night shelters.
