HYDERABAD: Mayor Mohd Majid Hussain has directed the engineer-in-chief of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) to submit circle-wise proposals to the standing committee on locations of perennial water leakages and sewerage overflows on main roads and repairs required for issuing administrative sanctions.
The mayor held a coordination meeting with Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) managing director J Syamala Rao along with Nampally MLA Virasat Rasool Khan, GHMC incharge commissioner Navin Mittal and others on Thursday.
He said HMWS&SB officials had submitted a tentative expenditure of Rs13.55 crore for executing 28 such works and directed the engineer-in-chief to take up the issue on a war-footing.
He also asked chief general managers and general managers of HMWS&SB to attend circle-level meetings, which would be held on last Tuesday and Wednesday of every month and sort out day-to-day road cutting coordination, corporators’ budgetary issues and other problems.
