GHMC to remove duplicate entries from voter list
The GHMC would be carrying out the de-duplication
campaign for the 15 Assembly constituencies of Hyderabad district from
September 26 to October 10 as per the schedule declared by the Election
Commission of India.
The exercise aimed at removing
duplicate entries in the electoral rolls would have booth level officer
carrying out door-to-door survey to find out the dead, duplicate,
permanently shifted and missing eligible electors, according to a press
release. The civic body requested all the electors of the 15 Assembly
constituencies of the district to avail the opportunity to verify their
names in the electoral rolls and file claims and objections, if any.

Omeroglu, Consul General, Turkish Consulate in Hyderabad has called on
the Mayor, Mohammed Majid Hussain and exchanged views regarding
different issues here on Thursday, according to a press release.
Road widening taken up
As
part of the road widening works for Metro Rail project between
Punjagutta and Ameerpet, the GHMC demolished a structure along the main
road here. According to the officials, removal of a few properties on
this stretch was pending and one of them was being pulled down after the
cheque for compensation was paid to the property owners. The road
widening work would continue here and two more structures were proposed
for demolition in next two to three days.
