The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has decided to
take stringent action if any additional floors are constructed after
issuing occupancy certificate and will be demolished immediately, GHMC
commissioner M T Krishna Babu has said.
GHMC is receiving
complaints from the people with regard to construction of additional
floors after getting occupancy certificate which is unfortunate, he
added.
Responding to a question raised by newsmen at the weekly
Prajavani programme, the commissioner said that several illegal
constructions are coming up especially in slums.
He appealed to
the people to avail the opportunity and settle the pending applications
of BPS and LRS before May 31. The applicant can pay the balance penal
amount through DD by May 31 and documents if any are to be furnished can
be submitted before June 15 to accord sanction.
He that there is
a good response to the Prajavani programme as huge number of citizens
are participating and submitting their grievances.
In the previous
Prajavani programme the citizens represented grievances pertaining to
individual litigations and boundary disputes which are civil in nature
to be settled in the court of law rather than representing in the
Prajavani programme.
