Government clears 24×7 water supply project
Commissioner G. Latha said that the State Government had cleared the Coimbatore Corporation’s 24×7 water supply project.
The
civic body intends to supply 135 litres per capita a day 24 hours a
day, seven days a week to the residents of the old city in 60 wards.
The Corporation had forwarded the proposal a few months ago and the same was cleared sometime last week.
The Government would forward the proposal to the Central Government, which would sanction funds for the scheme.
The project estimate is a little over Rs. 100 crore.
