Govt may dissolve H-K Development Board
The State government may dissolve the
Hyderabad Karnataka Development Board (HKDB) in the wake of special
status given to Hyderabad Karnataka region under the Article 371(J) of
the Constitution.
Indicating this at a general body
meeting of the HKDB here on Wednesday, Minister for Information
Technology and Bio-technology S R Patil said the Board may not continue
in the present form once the provisions of the Article 371(J) are
implemented.
He also ruled out providing an office to the HKDB at Vidhana Soudha.
Action plan approved
At the meeting, the general body approved the action plan of the Board for the year 2013-14.
Following a demand from MLCs that they be given
development funds on a par with MLAs, Patil assured that he would
provide the funds under his discretionary quota. Patil, who holds the
Planning portfolio, is also the chairman of HKDB.
