Govt’s training module to boost officials capacity

A training module, prepared by the State Government to boost the capacity of its officials and employees serving in urban bodies, has now been implemented by all other States, following Union Government instructions.
The Centre directed all the States to impart training to officers and employees of their respective States as per the training module of Madhya Pradesh. Principal Secretary Housing and Environment Alok Shrivastava informed that Madhya Pradesh Development Authority Federation was appointed the nodal institution in 2006 by the Urban Administration and Development Department for implementation of UIDSST projects and schemes.
Under this series, 14 training programmes were organised with a view to fillip capacity of technical and non-technical officers and employees of urban bodies.
On the basis of feedback gained through these training programmes, a module was evolved for training of officers and employees. This module was sent through State’s Housing and Environment Department to the Union Government. The module has now been accepted by the Union Urban Development Ministry and all States have been instructed to follow this module while imparting training to officers and employees of the urban bodies.
He informed that expenses incurred on training are reimbursed by the Capacity Building Fund of the Central Government.
The subjects included in the training are urban water supply, sewage disposal, road construction, drainage system, apart from accounting reform and e-governance.
