Ground-level reservoir inaugurated

It may solve problems in distribution of drinking water in Gandhinagar East
VELLORE: Law Minister Durai Murugan inaugurated a ground-level
reservoir constructed at a cost of Rs. seven lakh and a high-mast lamp
erected at a cost of Rs. five lakh in the Gandhinagar town panchayat on
Tuesday.
He said that the reservoir was meant to solve the problems in
distribution of drinking water to the residential areas in Gandhinagar
East. A ground level reservoir would be constructed in Gandhinagar West
too if necessary.
Steps had been taken to make Gandhinagar a model town. The
Virudhambut police station would be expanded by appointing 56 more
policemen, Mr. Durai Murugan said.
A total of 7.54 lakh colour television sets had been distributed at a
cost of Rs.171 crore so far in Vellore district. This included 61,441
sets in Katpadi Assembly Constituency. A total of 1484 TV sets costing
Rs.34.45 lakh were distributed to beneficiaries in Gandhinagar area on
Tuesday.

Deputy Collector (colour TV sets) and G. Chandrasekar, Tahsildar,
Katpadi spoke.
