GVMC may simplify fire NOC process for schools
Municipal Commissioner M.V. Satyanarayana has assured
managements of private schools that their problems with regard to
installing fire safety equipment would be taken into consideration.
However, the managements also should act responsibly and GVMC was
implementing mandatory fire safety norms, he made clear to them.
At
a meeting on Thursday, secretary of the private schools association
K.S.N. Murthy and Krishna Reddy of Ramakrishna Education Society brought
to his notice the hardships being faced by private schools and the
problems in obtaining no objection certificate (NOC) for fire safety and
building fitness certificate. Mr. Satyanarayana said a report would be
sent to the government on simplifying the process for issuing NOC. A
help desk would be set up to find out the status of ‘NOC.’ A meeting
would be arranged with the Engineering and Fire officials and the
managements. Regional fire officer Narasimham explained the working of
various fire safety mechanisms.
