GVMC to pull down 105 buildings
About 105 buildings in most dilapidated condition will
be demolished by the GVMC. GVMC has the powers to demolish dilapidated
buildings under Section 456 of the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Act.
Though 516 buildings have been identified as dangerous, so far only six
were pulled down. Municipal Commissioner M.V. Satyanarayana on Tuesday
ordered that the 105 most dangerous buildings be demolished after
issuing a final notice asking the owners of these buildings to
cooperate.
If they do not come forward within the time given, officials should act and recover the cost for demolition from the owners.
