GVMC to try out e-lamps

VISAKHAPATNAM: Municipal Commissioner V.N. Vishnu has asked officials to take necessary steps for installing the e-lamps made by Billion Lights on an experimental basis at the Rajiv Smruti Bhavan under construction and the Souvenir Shop.
Billion Light Managing Director Anil Kumar Eluri explained that the e-lamp would last 50,000 hours, save 50 to 60 per cent power and had several other positive features.
Chief Engineer B. Jayarami Reddy and Superintendent Engineers Moses Kumar, Simon Raju and Krishna Rao were present.
Agenda reviewed
At a meeting on the agenda of the corporation general body meeting scheduled for June 17, Mr. Vishnu asked Chief Medical Officer (Health) d. Abbulu to write a letter to the government to increase the non-plan grant for payment of salaries to Public Health contract workers according to GO 1289.
Also plan of action for prevention of malaria should be implemented. He directed Additional Commissioner (Projects) K. Ramesh to update the GVMC website.
