HMDA plans major projects around capital
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA)
plans to develop major projects worth several crores of rupees around
Hyderabad, though there is an ongoing dispute over the city’s status
after the proposed bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
At a
high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy on
Tuesday, the meeting ratified the Metropolitan Development Plan-2031 for
Hyderabad Metropolitan Region and also the Transit Oriented Development
(TOD) initiatives to be served by rail/road transit and provide easy
access to public transportation, mixed land use and walk to work.
