Illegal shops removed
Civic authorities removed a few unauthorised wayside bunk shops and hoardings from the city on Monday.
Around
100 billboards and 20 shops were cleared in the central city area
including Shanmugham Road, Canon Shed Road, Market Road, Hospital Road,
Park Avenue and Rama Varma Club on Monday.
The drive was jointly carried out by the Town Planning and Revenue wings of the local body.

Similar drives were carried out in Subhash Chandra Bose Road, Kaloor-Kadavanthra Road and Salim Rajan Road.
While
the illegal shops were removed without notice, the shops which had set
up illegal structures were asked to remove them, said an official of the
local body.
