IMC bans use of automobiles by staff inside city zoo
(IMC) has banned the use of motorbikes and cars by the staff, inside
the zoo premises. The IMC will provide the zoo staff with bicycles for
movement inside the campus.
Zoo in charge Uttam Yadav welcomed
the initiative of the IMC, saying, “No staff will be allowed to use
motorbikes or cars inside the campus. From now, only bicycles will be
permitted.”
“The zoo officials use to come by automobiles from
the main gate to the hospital situated near Gate No.4. This was
disturbing for the animals,” said security guard, Hare Ram Singh.
Apart form this, IMC will also provide uniforms to the zoo staff.
Yadav said, “The uniforms to be provided by IMC will make it easy for
visitors to recognize the staff and seek any assistance so and when
required. Also, this identification of the staff will instil among
visitors a sense of being watched and would thus keep them disciplined,
not harming the animals.”
“To control the visitors, from
irritating animals, the dress will help us in marking our identity of
being a zoo official. An appreciable step by the IMC,” said zoo
official, Sheikh Wajib.
Another staff Rakesh Yadav said, “All
the staff has given their uniform measurements and we expect to receive
them by week-end.”
