18 primary schools declared illegal

 Pune: Education : Running without permission, says civic body; asks citizens to not send children there

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Monday declared 18 primary schools in its jurisdiction as “illegal” for running without permission, and appealed citizens not to admit their children in these schools.

There are few schools that are running without any valid permission, the PMC education department said in a press statement.

“The PMC education department will not be responsible if the students take admission in the illegal schools and later pay through academic loss,” it said.

These illegal schools include eight of Marathi medium, six of English medium, two of Urdu medium, one of Kannada medium and one of both English and Marathi medium.

The citizens should not admit their students in these schools, it added. Incidentally, most of these schools are in suburban area of the city.

The list of school includes Sant Gadhge Maharaj Primary School, Ankur Vidyalaya, Harinandan Primary School, Fakkadrao Thorve School, Pant School, Sharda Primary School, Bharatratna Marathi Medium School, Dnyanprasarak Vidya Mandir, Sriram Hanuman Mandal Pathshala, Mariambi Urdu School, Fauzul Ulum

Primary School, Raghavdas Primary School, Pragati Engish School, Dnyanprabodhini Primary School in Hadapsar, Utkarsh Primary School, India Naz English Medium School, Wheelsad Primary School and Abundant Life School.
