BBMP on a property recovery drive

BANGALORE: The city corporation's property recovery committee on Monday asked the officials of Bangalore South zone to submit details of all the encroached properties in the zone and recover them immediately.

Byrasandra councillor and committee chairman, M Nagaraju, and other members of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike's (BBMP's) committee met Ashwath Narayan, MLC, joint commissioner, executive engineers and other officials of the Palike.

The committee members and the officials visited the HP petrol pump on 46th cross, Jayanagar 9th block, set up on 8,000 square feet of leased land. The committee instructed the officials to take possession of the land as the lease period had expired.

The team visited Cosmopolitan Club in Jayanagar 3rd block and asked the officials to take back the property when the lease expires. Also, the committee instructed that strict action be taken as the Palike's land had been given to private parties to set up a club.

The committee asked the officials to build a tree park on oneandahalf acres of land in Byrasandra. The team inspected Gurappana Palya lake too, where private parties have encroached the land by producing fake documents.

The officials were instructed to fence all the vacant land belonging to the Palike at the earliest. They were also asked to take strict action against those responsible for the encroachments and recover the land at the earliest.
