NDMC plans to enhance services

Aiming at better distribution and management of electricity and water distribution, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has given nod for introduction of innovative “Electricity & Water Utility Software”. With the approval, the agency is hopeful it will enhance the efficiency of the public services and utilities managed by it. According to a senior NDMC official, once the new software will be in place, the statistics and accounting data will be available online including billing and distribution of electricity and water. It was also informed besides the civic body; ultimately consumers will also be benefited.

Director Public Relations NDMC Anand Tiwari said the objective for introduction of the software or “commercial automation” is to make our distribution and management of utility services efficient and it will also benefited our consumers.

“Consumers will be able to see their consumption online; they can also pay their bills through Internet. It will also help them to monitor their consumption as their previous consumption of services for the last six months and payment history will also available online,” he said.

Tiwari also added that the software will be of great help for the NDMC as with the available data including accounting data will assist to enhance our performance and our planning. “After examining the statistics, which will be accessible easily then, the agency can differentiate its consumers that will also help out to chalk out planning. Regulation will also be easy,” said he.
