Lucknow Municpal Corporation starts issuing digitally signed birth, death certificates

LUCKNOW: The LucknowMunicpal Corporation on Monday started issuing digitally signed birth and death certificates through Common Service Centres (CSC) to all those who apply online.

The applicants can upload scanned copies of their documents on uponline.up.nic.in at a Common Service Centre and also submit necessary details. Each CSC has been provided with a username and a password and the information can be accessed by the health officer in LMC. After verification, a person's application would be registered free of cost after which he or she would be issued online certificate which can be digitally signed by the commissioner.

Additional municipal commissioner PK Srivastava said, "The website started by the CM -- uponline.up.nic -- emphasises on connecting 26 departments through e-services. LMC's birth and death registration is also one of these services which would be operated through 141 CSCs across city. Applicants can access these centres and apply for certificates.
