Mayor for plastic-free Bangalore

Bangalore, September 5, DHNS:

BBMP Mayor S K Nataraj has stressed the importance of converting Bangalore into a plastic- free City.

He was addressing a gathering after inaugurating a ceremony to name fifth cross on 24th main road in J P Nagar after D A Pandu. He expressed concern over growing plastic waste in the City and requested citizens to make efforts to convert the City into a plastic-free one.
He recalled contributions of Pandu to the field of education.

Jayanagar MLA B N Vijay Kumar said, roads, junctions and streets in the City will be named after great personalities like educationists, scientists and freedom fighters as it will be a source of inspiration for the present generation.

He said he has constituted four teams comprising noted personalities including film persons who are making efforts to make his constituency plastic-free.
