Indore Municipal Corporation to develop 15 gardens in 30 days

INDORE: The Indore Municipal Corporation has sanctioned a sum of Rs 25 lakh for the purpose of developing a garden over a piece of land near CHL Appolo Hospital in LIG area. The land allocated for the same purpose has been lying unattended for years. After the work begins, it is expected to be complete in 2-3 months. IMC has plans to develop 15 more gardens and hand them over to resident associations in a months time.

Local corporator Nisha Dewali said bhoomi pujan will be conducted on Saturday.

The work with start with constructing boundary wall. The garden will have walking track, chairs where visitors can rest, landscape, statues of great leaders, play zone for children with swing, sliders and other facilities and musical fountain.

Recently, IMC conducted a survey to find out the status of gardens in the city. The survey report revealed that out of 704 gardens in the city, 172 do not have water facility. In the absence of water facility, these lay as barren lands. Some of the gardens have turned into dumping ground for garbage. Nearly dozens of gardens do not have electricity supply making it a desolate place during night.

MayorKrishnamurari Moghe said civic that the body has carried out survey of gardens so that a proper planning can be done. He said around 15 gardens will be developed and handed over the resident associations in a month time.
