KMC, UK govt to sign MoU
Kolkata, 9 November: The Kolkata Municipal Corporation will sign a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) on 14 November with the government of United
Kingdom to ensure low carbon emission in the city.
Mr Greg Barker, minister of state for Department of Energy and Climate
Change (DECC), UK, will meet Mayor Sovan Chatterjee on 14 November to
deliver a roadmap in order to ensure low carbon emission rates. The KMC
had earlier written to the UK government seeking its help. The KMC had
initiated the process after CM had announced she would like to change
the overall "condition of the city".
