BBMP budget on Aug 30
Bangalore, August 18, DHNS:
It’s official. The Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) would table its budget on August 30.
The Mayor S K Nataraj said the budget would be tabled on August 30 and a debate over it would start on September 2.
A regular BBMP meeting would take place on August 28 and the budget would be presented on August 30 .
The ruling BJP in the Palike was drawing flak from all quarters for not presenting the budget. Lack of funds was reportedly preventing the party from coming out with the budget.
Sources said the Palike was looking at the government for funds. The Mayor had several rounds of talks with the Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and district in charge minister R Ashok for more allocation of funds to meet expenses and infrastructure needs.
The Mayor has placed a demand for a financial sanction of Rs 1,500 crore form the State government.
