GVMC budget proposals approved
Collector and Special Officer of GVMC Pravin Kumar on Saturday approved the budget proposals of the municipal corporation for the financial year 2018-29. Municipal Commissioner M. Hari Narayanan was also present. Additional Commissioner (Finance) S.S. Varma made a presentation on the budget proposals.
Additional commissioners G.V.V.S. Murthy and Sakala Reddy participated.
The budget estimates a revenue of Rs. .3119.68 crore and puts expenditure at Rs. 3292.96 crore. With an opening balance of Rs. .252.63 crore, the closing balance is projected at Rs. .79.35 crore.
Engineering works get the top allocation of Rs. .955.26 crore, followed by public health (Rs. .377.11 crore) while Urban Community Development projects get Rs. .157.56 crore, lighting Rs. .120.23 crore and education Rs. .31.92 crore.
Urban mission
Externally-aided projects account for Rs. 435 crore and Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation for Rs. 228.34 crore.
The Collector later visited the Command and Control Centre being developed at GVMC.
