Ludhiana: MC floats tenders for Field Ganj nallah
The Municipal Corporation today invited tenders for the closure of the Field Ganj Nallah. The Rs 16-crore project to close this nallah was initiated in 2006 but the project was shelved after BJP councillors protested that the design was not up to the mark. The MC engineers claim that though the nallah will be closed but they have modified the design now.

Award for PAU don
Dr A K Jain, Professor of Soil and Water Engineering at Punjab Agricultural University has received ‘Shiksha Rattan Puraskar’ from IIFS, New Delhi for his contributions in education and research. Dr Jain with professional experience of 25 years has authored research articles on water management in various journals/proceedings.

Rs 25-lakh research project for vet varsity
The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Human Resources, New Delhi, has sanctioned a research project of Rs 25 lakh to the Department of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology, GADVASU. Dr Suresh Kumar Sharma is the principal investigator and Dr S Rampal and Dr V K Dumka are co-investigators of the project. The project is awarded to the department for its remarkable contribution in the field of pharmacokinetics.
