Official inspects JNNURM works

VIJAYAWADA: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Principal Secretary T.S. Appa Rao has inspected the ongoing works taken up under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) in the city on Tuesday.
He visited Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) roads, and inquired about the proposed flyover near Benz Circle. Later, he visited housing complex at Jakkampudi. On the occasion, Municipal Commissioner G. Ravi Babu told him that the houses would be completed by August, and basic infrastructural facilities like drinking water, underground drainage and power supply were being provided. Apart from this a shopping complex, school, college and a multi purpose community hall would be constructed, he said. Mr. Rao also visited Vambay Colony and interacted with the people living there and inquired about facilities provided to them.
SE Yohan, Chief City Planner Timma Reddy, Additional Commissioner (Projects) S.V. Giridhar Rao and others were present.
