Verma may seek court help for MCD board meet
PNS | Dehradun
Leader of Opposition in the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun and Congress councillor Ashok Verma has decided to seek judicial help in calling for an MCD board meeting to discuss the anomalies in the working of the local body.
According to Verma, it is important to call the board’s meeting, which would discuss the anomalies in execution of work and the method of working followed by the officials.
People have been complaining about the anomalies in the different important works undertaken by the MCD for civic sanitation, public health and urban development. According to Leader of the Opposition in MCD Ashok Verma, the execution of important routine and development works is marred due to carelessness of the MCD officials. Councillors and staff members have not yet been able to meet in order to discuss measures for redressing these problems. Referring to the anomalies in works undertaken by the MCD, Verma said that officials and staff are working carelessly because they have not yet been questioned or issued orders officially as in a board meeting. He added that he would approach the court in the near future to demand that the MCD Board meet be held without delay in order to facilitate the redressal of different problems being faced in Dehradun. It is pertinent to note that the last board meeting of the MCD was held about one year ago.
