HUDA to rope in pvt cos for utility services

GURGAON: Now you can say goodbye to those endless hunting sessions for maids, drivers or AC mechanics in the city. The HUDA is roping in private companies to provide housing utility services for residents of Gurgaon and Rewari within the next two months.

Once the facility is rolled out in the city, all you have to do is dial a toll-free number of the HUDA-empanelled private company. You can rest assured your job will be done without haggling over prices or worrying about its quality. The first-of-its-kind scheme has been worked out after the HUDA was flooded with letters from residents who complained about the scarcity of utility service providers in the sectors.

I found the problem genuine because, as a housing policy body, the HUDA should have planned how to give utility services once the plots are given to residents, said HUDA administrator Nitin Yadav.
