Indore Municipal Corporation serves notice to residents for using residential area for commercial purpose

INDORE: Giving new twist to parking conflict at jail Road between residents and shopkeepers Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) on Tuesday served notices to the residents of the areas for using their properties commercially without proper permission.

The civic body issued notices to 35 persons, including 26 residential property's owners of Lodhi Mohalla and 9 of Jail Road area.

IMC official said after survey of the area it was found that residents of the area have sanctioned their maps as residential from civic body but they are using it commercially and making profit out of it. Most of the residents have constructed shops in their houses. Now civic body has asked them to shut down the shops and other commercial activities being operated within a week time.

Notably, a dispute is going on between the members of Jail Road merchant association and the residents of this area over parking for the last few weeks.

The residents of Lodhi Mohalla Rahwashi Sangh had taken up the issue with local MLA Ashwin Joshi, IMC commissioner Rakesh Singh and Traffic DSP Pradeep Singh Chouhan and apprised them about the problem of parking. Following municipal commissioner had asked civic official to carry out survey of the area. Report of the survey has come against residents putting them in spot.
