PCMC commissioner Shrikar Pardeshi inspects nullah cleaning work

PUNE: Pimpri Chinchwad municipal commissioner Shrikar Pardeshi inspected nullah cleaning work in the municipal limits for three consecutive days. Pardeshi conducted the inspection in Zone C(Bhosari, Moshi, Dighi, Charholi, Dapodi, Dudulgaon and other areas) limits on Saturday.

Deputy mayor Raju Misal alongwith the officials of the health and engineering departments accompanied him. He inspected the nullah near the Durvankur lawns along Alandi road; nullah from Radhanagari society to CME compound wall in Sandvik colony ward; nullahs near Adarshnagar and fire station in Bhosari. He also inspected the nullah in Phulenagar flowing from Auto lab to Telco road; nullah flowing from Sana weighing station to Polygrass hockey stadium and nullah flowing from Bhosari fire station to Pune-Nashik highway.

Earlier Pardeshi had directed the civic administration to complete the nullah cleaning works in the municipal limits till May 30, to avoid flooding in monsoon. After the set deadline, he inspected nullah cleaning works in Zone A(Nigdi, Akurdi, Chinchwad, Talawade, Chikhli and other areas) and Zone B(Pimpri, Chinchwadgaon, Ravet, Kiwale and other areas) on Friday.

Out of 34 nullahs, 26 were cleaned by civic employees and eight nullahs through private contractors in Zone B. Pardeshi directed the officials to complete the remaining cleaning work of nullahs in Kharalwadi and Lal Topinagar slum in Pimpri quickly and remove the garbage.
