Vidhan Sabha panel tells MC to present thorough report of illegal buildings

The Vidhan Sabha committee held a meeting with MC commissioner R K Verma on Thursday at Circuit House. The committee headed by Prem Mittal, included MLAs Balwinder Singh Bains and Bharat Bhushan Ashoo.

Sources said that the MC panel was asked to present a thorough report of the building branch and the details of buildings constructed against the by-laws.

"We have decided to bring to book the town planners who gave permission for these buildings," the official said.

Verma has been told to submit the related documents to the committee, which has been preparing the final report. It will be submitted to the speaker of legislative assembly.

The committee also discussed the projects of the city, including like Lakkar bridge and indoor stadium on Pakhowal road, that had failed to meet its deadlines.
