Illegal structures removed by Kanpur municipal corporation

KANPUR: As many as 57 illegal structures in zone -5 were demolished by the anti-encroachment squad of the Kanpur municipal corporation on Tuesday.

The squad led by CP Shukla conducted the drive against encroachment at Kabari Market, Shanideo temple Govind Nagar bridge and Parag dairy and bull dozed 11 tin sheds, 6 shanty shops of tea and paan shops, 15 huts and 25 tarpuline and wooden sheds.

The squad realized a sum of Rs 5000 as user charge from the illegal occupiers.

Five wooden shanty shops and tattar sheds were demolished by another squad in zone -4. According to Rajeev Shukla, zonal head, his team had visited the ward 110 to check the sanitation drive being conducted there and found that five illegal shops were hindering the drive. The encroachment was removed and specific instructions were placed to sanitation supervisor regarding cleaning the garbage dump daily.

Local residents there complained that drains were not being cleaned properly. Sanitation inspector Taiyyab was instructed to get them clean at the earliest.
