Civic body to shift high tension/low tension lines in Nashik Road

NASHIK: The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) will soon shift the high tension (HT) and low tension (LT) power lines along the road from RajrajeshwariChowk to Bharatbhushan Society in ward no. 33 of the Nashik Road division.

The proposal to award the contract to a private company M/S Tillotama Electric & Engineering Services will be tabled at the NMC's standing committee meeting on Thursday. Accordingly, the HT and LT lines along the road from Rajrajeshwari Chowk to Bharatbhushan Society will be shifted at a total expenditure of Rs 31.14 lakh.

Proposals for various civic works totally worth Rs 58 lakh will also be tabled at the standing committee meeting. Other issues to be discussed at the meeting includes the proposal to award the contract for constructing public toilets in Taxshila Rajwada near Valdevi river in ward no. 58 to a private firm M/s Sunil Jayram Khapare at a cost of Rs 26.9 lakh.

Meanwhile, around 46 proposals of land acquisition, which were expected to be tabled in the standing committee meeting, will now be tabled at the special meeting of the standing committee.

Standing committee chairman Ramesh Dhongade said, "The civic administration has shortlisted 46 proposals of land acquisition on priority. These land acquisition proposals are to be taken up at a special meeting of the standing committee, the date which will be announced shortly.

The standing committee had deferred its decision on the land acquisition proposals during its previous meeting on July 4 due to absence of municipal commissioner Sanjay Khandare.
