BBMP drive for recovery of advertising charges

In a special drive for recovery of advertisement charges, the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) authorities have removed advertisement boards from 178 bus shelters. 

The Palike claimed that the advertisers owe a whopping Rs 28 crore.

During the drive, the BBMP collected Rs 1.30 crore from the advertisers.

A Palike official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said that two private firms owe Rs 12.25 crore and Rs 10.71 crore towards advertisement charges and both have promised to pay the arrears in four days.
