SMC to have uniform recruitment policy

SURAT: Standing committee of Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has asked the administrative wing of the civic body to come up with uniform policy of recruitment to pension in six months time. This decision was taken after postponing five revenue department related proposals in standing committee meeting held on Thursday evening.

Rajesh Desai Chairman of standing committee while ordering for a complete set of rules formulation based on state government norms and amendments made by the civic body in it said, " Unless we have all the norms at our disposal in uniformity , we would not be able to take right decision."

The uniform policy on recruitment to pension of an employee would be in a book let form and that would be at disposal to all and would be formulated in coordination of revenue department officials and standing committee members from the elected body .

" Different employees unions have demanded such policy , once we make a uniform policy that will define employees salary structure, promotion, criteria to promotion, Retirement and pension , it would be easy for all ." said Desai.
