NMC plans 4 crore electric works

NASHIK: The Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) has invited bids worth Rs 4 crore for various electric works throughout the city.

The electric works are to be executed through private contractors, whose tender forms will be made available online from September 19 to 24. The last date for filing the bid is September 26, by 3 pm at the NMC headquarters at Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan. The e-tenders include around 52 different electric works in various parts of the city.

"We have invited bids for street lights, electric poles, octagonal light poles, installing colourful LED lamps at various gardens of the city, replacing old poles, boxes, cables, wires, shifting poles that are posing as obstacles on roads, shifting electric lines, distribution box, installing water cooler at Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan and Indira Gandhi Hospital at Panchavati, installing inverter in the maternity wards/labour room of Indira Gandhi Hospital, installing high masts, lights in the public toilets, underground cables, installing amplifiers or speakers in the garbage collection vans of the NMC and installing signal at Sainathnagar in prabhag 40," said an official of the NMC's electricity department.

He said that all these works are to be completed in a maximum period of 90 days. "For some minor works, like replacements or simply installing street lights, the period would vary from 30 to 60 days. For major works, the deadline is 90 days. The interested parties will have to register themselves online since we are going to float e-tenders," said the official.

The official added that in most areas, there were complaints of faulty street lights and these issues will be looked at on priority basis.
