63 prime plots to be auctioned in South Delhi

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is going to auction 63 residential plots on freehold basis in prime locations such as East of Kailash, Pitampura and Dwarka from November 20 to 22. The highest reserve price of Rs 16.7 crore is for a 334 sqm plot in Friends Colony, followed by Rs 15.7 crore for a 357.75-sqm corner plot in Janakpuri. Both these plots will be auctioned on November 20.

"Reserve price of corner plots or plots located on 24-m road and above is 10 per cent higher than the reserve price of normal plots. There are many corner plots for sale this time," a DDA official said.

The land agency said many of the plots have irregular shapes, which may affect their sale.

"One of the largest plots is located in Dwarka Sector-17, Pocket-B-3. While it is a corner plot, it has an odd size and, therefore, the reserve price is Rs 11 crore for 362.79 sqm. There are two plots measuring 107.5 sqm each in East of Kailash, with a reserve price of Rs 5.37 crore that will come up for auction on November 21," an official said.

The most number of plots for sale are in Dwarka Sector-17, followed by Pitampura. "The sale of brochures will start from October 28, on payment of Rs 525. Any citizen of India, public sector banks, NRIs and persons of Indian origin can participate in the auction," the official said.

After nearly a year, over 50 commercial plots, six multi-level parking lots and two banquet halls had also been put up for auction recently.

Meanwhile, the land agency had also carried out auction of 38 residential plots in March.

The auction had received a lukewarm response.

"Of the 11 plots put up for bidding on the first day, bids were received only for four," a DDA official said. Those plots were located in Rohini, Dwarka, Pitampura, Paschim Vihar and Vivek Vihar Phase-II.
