Local body tax department raids two shops

NAGPUR: Continuing action against local body tax (LBT) evasion and non-registration, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has conducted raid on establishments of two dealers and also seized the goods on Thursday.

Assistant commissioner (LBT) Mahesh Dhamecha said search was conducted on Mukesh General Stores and Chemicals and Mukesh Traders situated at Jagnath Budhwari. "Mukesh General Stores was having two godowns, one in Pathrabe mohalla and other in Saoji Galli and not disclosed with the LBT department. The dealer did not maintain purchase register and current sale book at the shop. The dealer also did not pay LBT for 28 packages of goods transported from Gondia," he said.

Dhamecha added that Mukesh Traders was not registered with the LBT department. "Dealer stored the electrical goods at a residence in Saoji Galli. No purchase bills, purchase register or sale bills were shown by the dealer," he said.
