Defaulters warned

Drastic action is being taken against those who have not paid their water bills and to prevent water theft from the Kerala Water Authority’s (KWA) pipelines .

While appealing to its consumers to clear their dues without further delay, KWA’s assistant executive engineer said water supply would be disconnected and revenue recovery proceedings would be initiated against defaulters.

Anti-water theft squad

An anti-water theft squad was being deployed in subdivision number- two of KWA in the city to detect unauthorized tapping of water from public taps and KWA’s water supply lines.

These are offences punishable with imprisonment up to one year and fine. Water theft and similar offences can be reported to KWA on telephone number 0495 2536000.

KWA has also made arrangements to supply drinking water by tanker lorries. Requests for supply of water by lorries can be made to office of the assistant executive engineer, distribution sub-division number-two, Kerala Water Authority, Near Sarovaram Biopark, Civil Station PO, Kozhikode673020 or over Ph: 04952536000.
