Corporation of the city of Panaji issues stop work order, showcause notice

PANAJI: The Corporation of the city of Panaji (CCP) on Tuesday evening issued a 'works stoppage order cum showcause notice' , directing realtor Joe Mathias' company Konkan Estates to stop construction at the site and show cause within a period of seven days, as to why the construction licence should not be revoked.

Signed by CCP commissioner Sanjith Rodrigues, the order takes cognizance of the complaints that the building construction was not as per the approved plan. When contacted, Mathias said he was willing to participate in any inquiry or examination of his building plans, and would not violate the regulations in any way.
