Water Board officials seize assets of defaulter

Staff Reporter

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) officials have invoked the Revenue Recovery Act (RR Act) to confiscate moveable assets worth Rs.1.47 lakh from the premises of a defaulter at RTC crossroads (H.No.1-7-1069 and CAN:612693638) on Friday, December 27, a press release stated.

RR Act invoked

The Water Board officials said that this was the first time that RR Act was invoked.

According to Water Board officials, the defaulters were served disconnection notices and ‘red notice’ was issued for seizing assets, but the customers failed to pay. Due to failure to pay the bills, the authorities said that RR Act was invoked and moveable assets proportionate to the dues were seized. Director (Revenue), P.S. Suryanarayana, Chief General Manager, Revenue Circle, A.Krishna and other top officials were present.
