Hyderabad, June 8: Final touches are being given to the revised master plan for core city that covers the 172-sq-km area of the erstwhile Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad spread across the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has almost completed incorporating changes in the plan, based on about 2,000 objections and suggestions made by stake holders in the draft of the revised master plan.

“We have completed the consultation process with citizens’ groups, NGOs and other stake holders. Now, final touches are being given to the plan. We will send it to the government before June 15 for final approval. The government will then issue a notification for the master plan,” the HMDA commissioner, Mr B.P. Acharya, said.

Most of the objections pertained to widening of interior roads in colonies and localities.

Citizens asked the HMDA to reduce the proposed width of road widening so that demolition of a large number of private properties could be avoided.
