Master plan discussed

HYDERABAD: The third meeting of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) Executive Committee on Wednesday discussed the steps to be taken for preparation of the Master Plan for its extended area covering Ranga Reddy, Medak, Nalgonda and Mahabubnagar districts apart from Hyderabad.

Suggestions for integrating the land use planning with transportation network in addition to infrastructure network and conservation issues on lakes, greenery, natural rocks and heritage buildings were provided by the experts.

Separate power point presentations on planning aspects for the extended area, core area Master Plan and on Traffic and Transportation were made by the consultants Centre for Environment Planning and Technology (CEPT), ADAPT Technologies and Prof. Raghava Chary.

The Annual Accounts for 2008-09 were also approved to enable commencement of statutory audit by Accountant General at the meeting attended by B.P. Acharya, HMDA Commissioner, Sameer Sarma, GHMC Commissioner, B. Prasada Rao, APSRTC Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, A.K. Khan, Hyderabad Commissioner of Police, M.T. Krishna Babu, HMWSSB Managing Director, Navin Mittal, Hyderabad District Collector and others.
