Hyderabad, March 16: The Srikrishna Committee is likely to select Greenlands Guest House at Begumpet as its temporary office, forcing the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) to shift its office to Tarnaka.

The HMDA had vacated the Paigah Palace for the US Consulate to set up its office two years ago.

It had been adjusting in the Greenlands guest house though it could not accommodate all its sections. The Srikrishna committee which had examined various guest houses and the Jubilee Hall reportedly approved the Greenlands guest house.

Senior officials have been asked to shift at least some of HMDA sections to Tarnaka office, paving the way for Srikrishna Commission, which is likely to start its work in April. Senior officials will work from Tarnaka office and the existing urban forestry wing in Tarnaka will be shifted to the premises of Buddha Purnima Project Authority (BPPA).

“We have been requesting the government not to disturb the existing set-up, as it will hamper work. But there is no positive response. So, we have to shift,” an official said.
