 State sanctions Rs 317.85 crore for Pune district for 2011-12

 Pune:  At the District Planning Development Council (DPDC) meeting at the Council Hall on Monday, the state government sanctioned Rs 317.85 crore for 2011-12 the Pune district. The proposal got Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s nod who chaired the meeting. He continues to hold the post of guardian minister.

Speaker of Legislative Assembly Dilip Valse Patil and Cooperative Minister Harshvardhan Patil, divisional commissioner Dilip Band and district collector Chandrakant Dalvi attended the meeting.The DPDC also cleared Rs 229.61 crore in common funds, while Rs 58.70 lakh has been cleared for backward classes and Rs 29.54 lakh for tribal development.

For innovative schemes, Rs 10.12 crore has been sanctioned, Rs 2.35 crore for strengthning laboratories under the health department, Rs 88 lakh for high-end laboratories in the animal husbandry department and Rs 1.94 lakh has been sanctioned for Manikdoh tiger eserve.

The DPDC stressed giving enough funds to truly deserving sportspersons from various talukas. Clearing new grounds for sports, anganwadis, rain guages for every area and increasing tourist areas in the district was other areas discussed in the meeting. Development of Sinhagad Fort was also discussed. New anganwadis were proposed by minister Patil while industrial training centres, libraries, schools was suggested by Speaker Patil.

BJP MLA Girish Bapat called for permanent grounds for promoting kabaddi and kho kho while a postal stamp on Hutatma Rajguru will be executed at the earliest. Collector Dalvi presented the budget as well as gave a detailed presentation on the use of funds allocated for this financial year. Mayor Mohansingh Rajpal, zilla parishad president Savita Dagade, MP Shirur Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil, PMC commissioner Mahesh Zagade and other senior officers were also present at the meeting. 

Zagade asks dept heads to personally prepare budgetary proposals
To increase the level of confidence and sense of responsibility of the head of the departments of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Municipal Commissioner Mahesh Zagade has urged the department heads to personally prepare the budgetary proposals for 2011-12 instead of leaving the task to juniors.

In a letter written to all the departments heads, he said as leaders of various teams and as authorities responsible for subjects allocated to them, the officers alone can make the difference between what exists and what actually is required in terms of civic services, infrastructure and anything and everything that makes this city liveable.
