BMC initiates waste collection drive
Staff Reporter | Bhopal
The Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has initiated a waste collection drive from August 16 in the State capital. The exercise has been in wake of directives received from the Urban Administration and Development (UAD) Department, which asked for initiating special cleanliness drive in all civic bodies of the State for a fortnight.
The target under the scheme is to cover particularly those areas which otherwise are left in the routine waste collection process, the officials informed.
Covering the entire 70 wards coming under the BMC, the drive would continue till August 31. The monitoring responsibility has been entrusted to health officers of the Corporation in every zone. In total, 211 truckloads of waste were lifted under it on Tuesday.
