BMC continues cleanliness drive to keep city clean

The special cleanliness drive initiated by the Bhopal Municipal Corporation on Saturday to keep city neat and clean on the occasion of festival of lights, Diwali continued on Monday.

The health department of the corporation carried out cleanliness work at various places under the drive and extracted 130 trips of waste and debris, insecticides were sprayed and it was disposed at the Bhanpura landfill site.

The cleanliness drive was initiated on October 23 on the instructions of Mayor Krishna Gaur to make the city neat and clean like homes. The special drive would continue till November 4 and would especially give priority to those areas that could not be cleaned on regular basis and that are visited by crowds. The waste extracted is collected at fixed places. Later, it is picked and sent to the disposal ground and if the need arises, insecticides are also sprayed on it.

The health department squad of the corporation extracted 04 truck of debris and waste from the various localities of Zone 1, 18 trucks from Zone 2, 10 trucks from Zone 3, 20 trucks from zone 4, 16 trucks from Zone 5, 6 trucks from Zone 6, 6 trucks from Zone 7, 6 trucks from Zone 8, 5 trucks from Zone 9, 14 trucks from Zone 10, 5 trucks from Zone 11, 5 trucks from Zone 12, 5 trucks from Zone 13 and 10 trucks from Zone 14 and was disposed at the Bhanpura landfill site after spraying necessary insecticides on it.
