Collect funds to construct meditation centre: MLA

MLA H S Prakash said that funds will be collected from donors to construct a meditation centre next to the Vivekananda Yoga Shikshana Institute at Maharaja Park.
He was speaking at the felicitation of former president of Kannada Sahitya Parishat, H B Ramesh who has been conducting free yoga classes for the past three decades at Maharaja Park here.
Earlier, City Municipal Council (CMC) member K T Prakash said that the building of Vivekananda Yoga Training School belongs to the CMC. But, a few officials have come forward to take possession of the building and are demanding the closure of the school.
He appealed for undertaking measures so that the programmes at the school remained unaffected.
Responding, MLA H S Prakash assured the councillor that as Ramesh is giving yoga education to the public, the administration will not object to the programmes. He also urged people to work towards constructing a meditation centre next to the existing building.
MLC Patel Shivaram inaugurated the programme. Lecturer Malleshgowda described the services of Ramesh. Journalist R P Venkateshmurthy observed that, when Ramesh was KSP president, he had strived for transparency. Ramesh has led his life abiding by the terms of the society and in a dignified manner, he added.
