Citizens advised to use protective measures against mosquitoes


HYDERABAD: On the first day of the month, in the long special sanitation drive taken up by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) , 54 localities spread across 18 circles were covered.

Activities included clearance of garbage and debris, anti-larval operations, testing for residual chlorine and door-to-door campaigns.

Chief Medical Officer of Health Jairam informed that the areas covered under the sanitation drive included Mallapur, Uppal, Karmanghat, Malakpet, Dhoolpet, Attapur, Asif Nagar, Mallepally, Isamiya Bazar, Narayanaguda, Borabanda, Banjara Hills Rd. No.12, Sanatnagar, Chandanagar, Srinivasa Nagar, KPHB Colony, Jagadgirigutta, Vayupuri , Sainikpuri, Prakashnagar, Patigadda among others.

The chief medical officer also advised the citizens to use protective measures against mosquitoes like net during sleeping hours, repellents and preferably wear long- sleeved shirts and trousers.

the potential breeding sources of mosquito like unused tyres, broken coconut shells, broken parts and water inside the air coolers etc., should be drained out.
