Cleaning drive in government offices

Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Various service organisations have offered their cooperation to the sanitation drive proposed in the State from October 2.

The organisations gave the assurance at a meeting held by Local Administration Minister Paloli Mohammed Kutty here on Wednesday for speeding up the cleaning operations in government offices.

The Minister said hygiene standards were not so satisfactory in the offices and these should improved. Drinking water and toilet facilities should be provided to the public who visit the offices.

He urged the organisations to discourage sticking of bills on office walls and to put up signboards specifying the name and place of the offices. The cleaning operations should not disrupt the functioning of the offices.

S.M. Vijayanand, Principal Secretary, Local Administration, and leaders of various service organisations attended the meeting.
