Beach cleanup drive on September 22

Staff Reporter

Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated with fervour across the city but after the festivities are over it leaves the beautiful beaches polluted with solid waste. To ensure that the beaches are brought back to their original pristine state, Ken Foundation Society is organising Vizag Coastal Cleanup drive on September 22 in collaboration with GVMC.

The foundation has made a call to students, institutions and citizens to come forward to clean the coastline. There is a registration fee of Rs. 10 to receive a participation certificate at the end of the programme. Gloves, bags and other paraphernalia required for the clean up will be provided to them.

The coast has been divided into seven zones from Gokul Park to Rushikonda and teams will be divided to target a particular zone. Call P. Santosh at 9885674949 or visit e-seva centres, Laddu Gopal, Titan Showroom and RK Beach to register. Follow Ken Foundation at www.facebook.com/ken.foundation

The drive will begin at 7 a.m.
